temple lamp

The Temple Lamp is a desk lamp inspired by a miniature Roman Tempietto made in the 18th/19th century and fit for a candle.

The piece was made for a project requiring the use of repetitive, laser-cut shapes, with flat-packaging and assembly in mind. Alternating matte paints were used to emphasize the lines of the pieces and allow it to stand alone as sculptural décor when not used for lighting.

The piece is 8 inches wide by 9 inches tall.

ambient or task lighting

The Temple Lamp provides an ambient glow to any room, but its temple top and light source can swivel to provide better task lighting as needed.
